Abano pass
Tusheti road Georgia - most dangerous road in Georgia (Abano pass, Omalo)
Tusheti road in Georgia is one of the most dangerous roads in the world. It is well known as a "death road" because of many fatal accidents. This dirty unpaved road is situated deeply in beautiful Caucasus mountains. It is connecting Kakheti region with Tusheti region through the higest mountain road pass in Caucasus - Abano pass in altitude 2 850 m. The road is opened arround from May to October (depends on weather conditions). It is accesible only by 4x4 vehicles and it’s really challenging for driving skills. On the way one can try the natural termal springs Torghva. Our goal was the village Omalo - cute mountain village with wonderful views, fortress, several guesthouses for eating and sleeping, local hospitality and perfect breakfast :) Tusheti road in numbers (from Pshaveli village to Omalo village): - Distance: 72 km - Vertical elevation: 2 800 m ascent / 1 380 m descent - Max. altitude: 2 850 m Abano pass - Travel time: 5 - 7 hours Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/RR7QjykwAAB2 Camera: Drone DJI Mavic Air + GoPro Hero
